Ok I have put my own tips on before with gorilla glue and a double siringe thingy with 2 apoxys in it(which worked awesome) and both did the job. I’m wondering tho the new tip I ordered is a 14 mm(only size I could find) and my stick is a 13mm. What do I need to buy to get rid of the edges? Can I buy like a cuetec shaper/bowtie/tip pik and use the shaper part to do this? Or do I need to buy something to cut the access off? So the question is how to I reduce the tip from 14 to 13 mm? One more question. I ordered a hard tip and a soft. Want to try them both. Where can I find a extra shaft for my players cue? I need a backup plus I can add the other tip to it and try both that way. Thanks as always

Watch the video at the first link. It's a good step-by-step on re-tipping, and tells you why using a 14mm tip is actually a good thing on a 13mm shaft. They use a Porper mushroom grazer and cutrite to trim the tip down.
Lots of retailers will have extra shafts. Check the second link for one of them on the left side, about 2/3 down the page.
